He also noted the decision to defer payments on certain credit obligations totaling 24.2 billion yen (about 161 million USD) until 2032, which significantly reduces the debt burden on the country’s budget during the prolonged war.
The parties discussed the implementation of the ERA mechanism. In 2025, Ukraine and Japan signed an agreement providing Ukraine with a loan of up to 471.9 billion yen (about 3 billion USD) within ERA.
