Lambhua, Oct 19: To help the debt-trap and helpless farmers of Uttar Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Varun Gandhi on Tuesday took a significant step and handed over keys of 28 newly built houses to families belonging to the weaker section. This happened in Lambhua block of Sultanpur, which is his own constituency. Poor rainfall resulting in poor yield of crops added to the plight of the farmers in Uttar Pradesh. The beneficiaries of the houses were chosen on basis of 3 criteria: those who failed to pay loans, the ones who lost crops and those with who have no assets.
