BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Happening on Thursday, Vermont’s Treasurer is announcing a plan to get rid of your medical debt.
Treasurer Mike Pieciak wants to help low and moderate-income Vermonters – and the plan wouldn’t require any new spending.
It would eliminate $100 million in medical debt with a million-dollar investment.
He’ll be joined by Rhode Island’s treasurer who says their medical debt relief plan has already eliminated $7 million of resident’s medical debt.
The virtual policy forum starts at 11:30.
