Nearly 10,000 people in Kent County just had some of their medical debt wiped.
LANSING, Mich. — On Thursday, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced what she said is just the first round of medical debt forgiveness in the State of Michigan.
Over $144 million in medical debt was forgiven for nearly 210,000 Michiganders, according to Whitmer’s office, as part of a collaboration with the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt.
