Ireland recorded 618 corporate insolvency appointments in the first nine months of 2025, a 5% decrease on the same period last year, according to new figures from Deloitte Ireland.

Quarterly activity remained steady, with 206 cases in Q1, 201 in Q2 and 211 in Q3.

James Anderson, Turnaround & Restructuring Partner at Deloitte, said the overall decline masked a shift in underlying trends.

SINGAPORE – Singapore-based online clothes rental platform Style Theory announced its closure on Sept 30, citing rising operating costs as one of the causes.

The platform offers both one-time clothes and bags rental services, as well as membership plans that allow members to rent a fixed number of pieces per month for a monthly fee.

All rental, delivery, membership, support and services have been discontinued as at Sept 30, according to Style Theory’s website.

Active subscribers of the platform will not receive refunds for unused portions of their plans. Those holding on to rented apparel pieces were asked to hold on to them until further notice, said the rental platform.

Those holding on to rented bags were asked to return them, as they…

The completely alcohol-free beverage company was the one of the first of its kind in Australia, founded in 2017 by Dr Clinton Schultz and Lozen McDiarmid-Schultz.

After eight years of building Sobah Beverages, McDiarmid-Schultz said the pair had made the difficult but necessary decision to enter voluntary administration.

“It’s not a decision we ever wanted to make, and we worked hard to avoid this outcome, much to our own personal detriment. Throughout this process, we have done our best to act as ethically and responsibly as…

The BBC approached Mr and Mrs Scarborough and BRI for a comment, but neither responded to the claims about Butterwick stores trading after filing for liquidation.

A spokesperson for BRI explained that a government department usually steps in to pay employees who are made redundant due to insolvency.

“We can confirm that amounts due for wage arrears, accrued holiday pay and redundancy, where appropriate, and statutory notice pay, owed to the former employees of the business, will be paid by the Redundancy Payments Service and the claim process will be dealt with in accordance with the relevant legislation and official guidance,” the spokesperson added.

“All of the 62 employees impacted by the redundancies have been contacted by IPERA…
