The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) Kochi bench of Smt. Madhu Sinha (Technical Member) and Shri. Vinay Goel (Judicial Member) has held that mere possession over assets of the Corporate Debtor under section 13(8) the SARFAESI Act does not confer any title on the Creditor. A title over the property passes to the purchaser only after a valid sale.

The present application has been filed under section 60(5) of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (IBC) seeking to recall an order passed on 14.08.2024. It is further prayed that the Resolution Plan submitted by the Respondent No. 1 should also be rejected.

The CEO of the artificial intelligence-backed medical debt purchasing company PayZen believes payment plans can be part of the solution to America’s high-priced healthcare, even as consumer rights advocates warn third-party financial agreements lack transparency.

The company is just one in a sea of healthcare financing companies, whose executives see “acceleration” in conversations with cash-strapped hospitals facing historic Republican-led healthcare cuts.

Signed into law by Donald Trump, the cuts are expected to leave 17 million people without insurance through 2034. As those uninsured people struggle to pay for healthcare, the change is effectively a cut to hospital revenue, and threatens some cash-strapped facilities with…

A list of the highest student loan debts across the country has left Australians absolutely gobsmacked, with many questioning how some of the figures are even possible.

Data from the Australian Taxation Office obtained by Sky News late last year revealed the highest individual HECS-HELP debts, with at least 50 people having debts over $250,000.

The data showed that, as of October 1, 2024, the person with the biggest HECS-HELP debt owes a whopping $831,675.53 in student loans.

This number could now very well be higher, given on June 1, 2025, indexation of 3.2 per cent was applied to all student loan debts.

The second highest amount on the list was $556,154, followed by $436,110 and $417,134.

A photo showing the top 10 highest debts was…

A Del Taco franchise took a risky, million-dollar move. Now, it’s bankrupt.

Matador Restaurant Group, a South Carolina-based operator of Del Taco locations in Georgia and Alabama, filed for Chapter 11 protection last week.

It’s the latest restaurant brand to collapse under financial pressure. The past year has been notably brutal for chains that cater to low- and middle-income diners.

And it adds to a string of troubles for Del Taco itself.

The brand — which competes with Taco…
